When is an author's fan no longer a fan? When they send death threats and stalk you with high-powered rifles. Mercedes Lackey writes about the troubles that fame and popularity in the world of fantasy fiction brought her in her ranting essay "The Last Straw".
I never knew writing fiction could be so dangerous.
I visited Lackey's website and saw that she supports the Alex Foundation. Though I've never been a big fan of her books, I now find myself feeling a warm kinship toward her. :-)
